The Regional Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry of the Autonomous Region of Galicia has implemented an aid plan to go along with the Social Rate agreed upon between the State and marketing companies to help the beneficiaries pay their electricity bills, and also to guarantee continued access to electricity in the most disadvantaged homes.
Through this aid, the Xunta will cover 50% of the electricity bill of the beneficiaries up to a maximum of 200 euros per year (or up to 450 euros per year, in the case of multiple families). The requirements to access this aid, which is granted on a non-competitive basis, are being a resident in Galicia and holder of the supply contract, having contracted the last resort rate by applying the 40% electricity Social Rate from the State and being at risk of social exclusion, which must be accredited with a certificate or report from social services.
In order to be a beneficiary of the subsidies, you must submit a request by 15 December through the standardised form available at the electronic office of the Xunta de Galicia, or from the link: https://axudascortes-subministracion.xunta.gal.
